Week 2 Recap - Trip and Course update week of Jan 24th.
Week 2 Recap - This week we focused on foreshortened pose. Starting with gesture drawing then working into foreshortened poses. Next week we will start Figure in space drawings.
Week 2 Recap - This week we continued working on Projects 1 (three paintings of 1 subject in any style) and 2 (portrait). A tentative date of Feb 24th was set for critique. Painting 1 students should have completed their Grisaille (Black and White) painting and will start the Transparent Inprimatura next week using only Burnt Umber. Various demonstrations were done for Painting 1 projects.
Week 2 Recap - This week we spent both classes mixing colors for the Color Match project. Students will match 30 color swatches and then create a thematic display. Next week we will discuss presentation techniques and students will turn in their projects at the end of class on Thursday.
Week 2 Recap - This our first full week, we introduced project #1 drypoint with the theme of "the persistence of time and memory/ceci n'est pas une pipe". Students will execute a design that refers to the theme in three identical edition prints.
Week One Recap - Looking forward to a new semester, each class we read through the syllabi and began working on the first projects. More in depth posts of each courses progress will follow starting next week.
