Week 1 + 2 Recap - Week 1 students reviewed the syllabus and began planning for the first two projects.  Week 2 Students began painting on the projects, demos have been made for Grisaille, Burnt Umber Wipe Out and Portrait studies.  Next week Wet in Wet demo and more portraits.

FA 106 Color Theory TR Week 1 & 2

Week 1+2 Recap - Students reviewed the syllabus and began work on Project 1 Color Match during the past week.  This week students continued working on this same project with the options mentioned in the previous CT post.  30 matches or 20 + one exercise or 10 + two exercises.  Students should plan on being finished by next Thursday Feb 2nd.

FA 105 2D Design Week 1 + 2

Graphic Composition Thumbnails
Week 1+2 Recap - Wed of last week we reviewed the syllabus and course materials.  Monday we introduced project 1 Graphic Compositions.  Students were given 10 units of study after a review of compositional concepts.  Before creating final composition images students will make 40 thumbnails, 20 rough sketches.  Wednesday students used lab time to continue working on thumbnails for a critique on Mon the 30th.

FA 106 Color Theory MW Weeks 1 &2

Week 1+2 Recap - Last Wed we reviewed the course syllabus and materials, then introduced the Color Matching project.  Monday we began color mixing.  On Wed students were given some options to reduce the number of matches from 30 to either 20 or 10 by doing some exercises that show properties of color. This group of projects will be due Wed Feb 1st.

FA 226 Printmaking Intaglio Week 1&2

Week 1 & 2 Recap - Last Wed we reviewed the syllabus and had a practice print demo for the intaglio process.  On Mon we had a second demo and introduced project #1 Metamorphosis.  This project will have three different states and students will produce two prints per state.  Wednesday this week we held a brief critique of the practice prints to discuss Border, Ink Quality and Signature portions of print presentation.  Next week students will receive a full grading rubric for the first project.
