Tuesday students again drew from theme 2 "fountain of Neptune" while on Thursday we returned to the Prud'hon academic theme. Critique of final submission then concluded class on Thursday.

FA 104 Figure Drawing 2 Week 15
This week we started final posses 2 & 3. 2 was based on the fountain of Neptune by Giambologna while 3 was based on the academic drawings of Prud'hon. Students will complete these drawings and submit homework 4 (2hands, 2 feet)

FA 209 Painting 1 Week 15
This week students worked to near completion of the final project (18"*24") students should have the following projects for our final critique next week. Color box, Glaze Scumble Velatura, Palette Project (2 paintings, one being shellac) and their final (open subject, palette and style)
FA 106 Color Theory Week 15
This week students worked on finishing up their final projects. Students should have parts a and b complete.

FA 104 Figure Drawing 2 Week 14
This week we started our finals with the theme of the Thinker. We also collected and graded sketchbooks for the semester. Next week will again have more time on finals.
FA 209 Painting 1 Week 14
Students finished work on the palette painting project while planning their final paintings 18"x24". Demonstration began for final lion skull.
FA 104 Color Theory Week 14
This week classes began work on the final project parts A (observation) and B (artist analysis). Both will be used for creating part C (interpretation). Demos MW night Shawn Barber and Gorilla Still Life. TR morning still life (undetermined) artist Emilio Villalba.

FA 104 Figure Drawing 1 Week 13
This week students worked on crafting two long pose portraits based on the anatomy lectures from last week. Next week we will begin constructing our final project drawings. Hands and feet homework due Thursday December 10th.
FA 209 Painting 1 Week 13
Students worked on finishing the first palette project painting while starting the second. The class demo for Abstract/Glaze/Landscape was also nearly completed. The final project should be started asap. Subject is open, palette is open and style is also open.
FA 106 Color Theory Week 13
Both classes finished working on the ribbon project. The demonstration for the bonus critter project was also completed.

FA 104 Figure Drawing 2 Week12
This week was our final week for anatomy lectures, on Tuesday we reviewed the hands and feet, while on Thursday we reviewed both the head and neck as well as the features of the face. Portraits for next week.
FA 209 Painting 1 Week 12
This week students began work on the palette project. Students are to produce two separate paintings using the matrix of Style, Palette and Subject. Shellac must be used for at least one piece. Demonstrations for Shellac/Mud Palette/Imagined Still Life and Abstract/Glaze Palette/Landscape were begun.
FA 106 Color Theory Week 12
This week students worked on creating a layout for their color ribbons and began painting. Demonstrations were completed for both classes.

FA 209 Painting 1 Week 11
This week students finished work on the color box and also attended the field trip
FA 106 Color Theory Week 11
Mon Wed class had both sessions and worked on starting the color ribbon project. Tues class started the color ribbon and submitted the pixel portrait for grading. Thursday students had a field trip to see both the Clark Instititute in williamstown and Mass MOCA in north Adams.
