FA 218 Painting 2 Week 6

This week portrait demonstration continued for the Caravaggio piece as student worked on starting their portrait exchange. Painting 1 group worked on the warm cool project.

FA 218 Painting 2 Week 4-5

Week 4 demo for wet in wet. Week 5 warm cool demo on Tuesday and Caravaggio demo part 2 on Thursday.

FA 218 Painting 2 Week 3

Tuesday students began the transparent Imprimatura (Wipe Out) using only burnt umber. Demonstration continued on completing the wipe out and beginning both Rembrandt and Caravaggio portrait demos. Thursday students completed the wipe out while demonstration began with wet in wet style still life.

FA 218 Painting 2 Week 4

This week students continued to finish the union/separation project. Demonstrations on the Caravaggio and Rembrandt pieces continued.

FA Painting 2 Week 3

This week students should have started painting two of the Union/separation project. Portraits for Caravaggio and Rembrandt styles were started. Wipe out demo was completed and the wet in wet project begun.

FA 218 Painting 2 Week 6

With one week to the first class critique students should be finishing their first group of projects. Demonstrations this week focused on the painting techniques of Rembrandt and Caravaggio. Paint 1 projects should be moving to limited earth palette and glaze, scumble and velatura next week.
