FA 218 Painting 2 Week 13

Tuesday students had their final lab to prepare the portraits for critique on Thursday. Thursday students held a critique of the faces portrait project with visiting artist Shawn Barber. Demonstrations continued with Waddell oil on copper portrait of Heather

FA 106 Color Theory PM Week 10

This week students continued to finish their Faces pixel projects while starting the color ribbon design. 

FA 106 Color Theory AM Week 10

Students finished up work on the Faces of MV Pixel Portrait Project. Demonstrations for the color ribbon were begun. 

FA 106 Color Theory PM Week 9

This week students continued working in the pixel portrait Faces project. Students should be about halfway done with a due of Thursday April 9th. 

FA 218 Painting 2 Week 9

This week students were asked to begin focusing on the Family/Historical Portrait project. With 1 month to critique and a double point value the project should be well begun. A demonstration self portrait was begun to show some possible solutions to the problem.

FA 106 Color Theory AM Week 9

Both classes this week students worked on the Faces Pixel Portraits. With a due date of Thursday April 2nd students should be over halfway finished.

Pixel Twins 2015

This week students worked on the Faces Pixel portrait project as grades were returned for the color field blot project. Students will have about 1 full week after the break before this project is due.

This week students also finished up the faces and blots. Introductions were made to the Faces of the Mohawk Valley "family" project. 

FA 106 Color Theory AM Week 7

Both classes this week students worked on completing the examples from the color field theory project. The Faces of the Mohawk Valley "Family" project was introduced. 

FA 106 Color Theory PM Week 6

This week students in the PM class also reviewed the examples C&B while working on finishing their own example exercises. Next week students will begin the Faces of the Mohawk Valley project with the Family theme.

FA 218 Painting 2 Week 6

This week students should have finished the union/separation project and begin work on both the historical palette portrait and the Faces of the Mohawk valley portrait. April 23 is the due date for the Faces project and we will critique projects 1&2 on Thursday March 11th.

FA 106 Color Theory Week 12

This week students worked to finish the Family Faces project and started the Robot / Critter Tonal Tint project. 

FA 106 Color Theory Week 11

Both class sessions this week students worked on the Face pixel portrait project. Students will review progress in a group critique this coming thurs nov 13 and turn in the final image on tues nov 18.

FA 106 Color Theory Week 10

Tuesday and Thursday students continued working on the color ribbon and pixel portrait projects. Thursday at the end of class students held a critique of the ribbon project in progress. Students should have the final ribbon for grading on Tuesday at the beginning of class.

FA 106 Color Theory Week 8

Tuesday students continued working on the color ribbon project as a demonstration on of layout and first steps on the pixel project was given. Thursday students had the opportunity to work on either project as demonstrations continued.

FA 106 Color Theory Week 8

On Tuesday and Thursday student worked on the color ribbon project exploring how to high light the concepts of light, color and space. This project will continue after break.
