IL 106 Seq Art Fig Ill Week 2

On Tuesday students transitioned from stage 1 thumbnails to stage 2 roughs. Students enlarged the thumbnails and added detail to the best ones. Thursday students saw the demonstration roughs and an introduction to photographing a model for stage 3.

IL 106 Seq Art Figure Illustration Week 1

Week 1 Recap - This week students reviewed the course syllabus and supply list on Tuesday. While being introduced to the first project/exercise Emotional Figure on Thursday. After reviewing the Creative Process and the Hero's Journey myth student began gestural thumbnails based on emotions chosen from the emotional flower diagram. Students should have 60 total thumbnails finished (20/emotion) by 10 am Tuesday for review.

FA 104 Figure Drawing 2 Week 4

This week foreshortened drawings culminated in a graded long pose on Thursday. Students also handed in homework 1. Next week we begin the figure in space.

FA 104 Figure Drawing 2 Week 1&2

Students spent Tuesday focusing on gesture and warming up to drawing the figure after the summer off. Thursday students had a refresher boot camp in proportion. On Tuesday the 8th of September we will meet at the Juergensen gallery in IT before returning to the figure room to finish proportion.

FA 104 Figure Drawing 2 Week 10

Tuesday students continued the anatomy lectures with the legs. While Thursday students made long pose drawings of the legs. Next week will feature the arms.

Fa 104 Figure Drawing 2 Week 3

Tues-class cancelled. Thursday students began the foreshortened figure gesture to prepare for the graded drawing next Tuesday. Shorter poses lead to longer more detailed and lit drawings. Homework #1 was assigned for next week - students will draw 3cubes, 3cyliders, 3spheres and one invented organic shape. Each form should show cross-contour lines to emphasize the volume of the forms

FA 104 Figure Drawing 2 Week 3

Week 3 recap -this week students focused on foreshortened pose drawings, transitioning from gesture to long pose tonal pieces. On Thursday students made two drawings on toned paper, one which will be submitted for grading.
