FA 210 Digital Painting Week 1

On Tuesday students were introduced to the course syllabus, crtlpaint.com and a color scale exercise with shades, tints, compliments and harmonies. Thursday students had an introduction to the basics of Adobe Photoshop and both painted a geodesic solid and begun their first project Observational Grisaille Still Life.

FA 218 Painting 2 Week 1

This week students read through the course syllabus before beginning project 1 by selecting a still life object and pairing with a partner to create a set up for painting #1. Students will complete this piece and then decide whether to say with their partner or separate. Portraits were taken for the start of project 2 portrait exchange. Demonstrations will begin next week.

FA 106 Color Theory AM Week 1

This week class began and students read through the course syllabus before collecting required materials on Tuesday. Thursday students explored color space by moving through the hue families, harmony and compliment colors and finally a tint and shade. Tuesday next week students will begin the color triad, tetrad... 

FA 101 General Drawing Week 15

This week students were introduced to an acrylic wash drawing method as a means of infusing color into the drawing process. Students were asked to focus on drawing a single object in dramatic lighting by layering acrylic washes and adding color pencil to deepen shadows. Students also brought in 5 drawings for a one on one portfolio review of the semester. 

FA 104 Figure Drawing 2 Week 15

This week students ended with the final drawing #2 based on the Three Graces.

On Thursday at the end of the pose we held critique before submitting a final drawing for grading.
