Color Theory TR Week 12-14

Week 12-14 Recap - we finished up the color ribbon project and began the Tonal Critter project. Students were asked to create a creature that does not exist in the fossil record and make an illustrated study. This study was then placed in Photoshop and altered tonally, which becomes the tonal concept for the final painting of the project were the critter is placed in its natural environment. The final project was also presented with two parts. First students are asked to make 10 duo tone color studies in a 3"x3" format. Secondly students have a choice of three different solutions. A- was to create an small sculptural object that combines natural and man made components and place this creation into a picture with its opposite. B - was to create a poster with time date and place information. Additionally this poster should include color vibration, transparency and pointillism. C- students can paint a color box still life that takes the basic set up and emphasizes the color light and reflections inside the composition. Images of the solutions will be posted this weekend.
