FA 209 Painting 1 weeks 8-9

Weeks 8-9 recap- week 8 student had critique for projects 1-5 (grisaille, wipe out, wet in wet, warm/cool, and limited earth). Week 9 students began work on the Color Box project. Student should look to infuse the objects of the still life with heightened sense of color atmosphere.

FA 104 Figure Drawing 2 weeks 8-9

Weeks 8-9 recap- week 8 students studied the anatomy of the leg and submitted the midterm figure in space drawings. The week ended with a long pose drawing of the legs. Week 9 students studied the anatomy of the arms, again ending with a long lose drawing of the arms.

FA 106 Color Theory Weeks 8-9

Weeks 8-9 recap - in week 8 students worked to have the layout and 3 colors blocked-in for the FMV pixel project. Week 9 students were introduced to the color ribbon project while finishing the pixel.

FA 202 Intermediate Drawing Week 8-9

Week 8-9 recap- week 8 students finished working on mid-term projects.

Week 9 students held critique on Monday  looking at the object/theme drawings as well as the growth drawing project. Wednesday we discussed the weakness/strength project and the artist research project. Students should have groups and artists chosen by Wednesday October 31 Halloween.

Week 7 recap- this week students began their mid term Figure in Space drawing. Students should have at least 7 figures, one overlap, full light and shadow shading with a background included. Dues Tuesday 

FA 209 Painting 1 week 7

Week 7 recap - this week students worked on the limited earth palette painting. Using only the four paints (blk, wht, al crim, raw snna) students will create a still life painting that shows a range of value and color.

FA 106 Color Theory Week 7

Week 7 Recap - this week students began painting their Faces of the mohawk valley pixel portraits. Students should use a variety of colors to show the correct values that the images present. 

FA 202 Intermediate Drawing Week 7

Week 7 recap - this week student continued to work on their mid term drawing assignments. Critique will be on Mon Oct 21st.

Week 6 recap - this week we began with our first anatomy lecture on the torso. Students then focused on exclusively drawing the torso. Thursday students made a long pose drawing of the torso on toned paper. Next week we will begin the figure in space midterm

FA 209 Painting 1 Week 6

Week 6 recap - this week students participated in a drawing workshop with visiting artist James D'Andrea on Tuesday, while finishing up their warm/cool painting projects on Thursday. A Limited Earth color palette demonstration was given on Thursday as well.

Week 6 recap - Monday Students worked on mid term assignments while getting a triple drawing tool demonstration. On Wednesday I shared my progress on the growth drawing project - theme Hero's Journey as fine art. Sketchbooks should be updated on Monday.
