Week 9 recap - This week students began painting their color ribbon project. This project will continue thru next week.

SA 300 Amsterdam Paris London Meeting 5

This week we watched Midnight in Paris the woody Allen film. At the end we had a brief review of some options we may choose to include for our group project. Students were asked to formulate two interview questions for our next meeting on April 9th. Students will conduct interviews of each other using these same questions.

GD 101 Foundation Drawing Week 9

Week 9 recap - this week we finished up our work on the graphite value key drawings. Students will have a bit more time on Monday to finish this four drawing series before moving to charcoal next week

FA 105 2D Design Week 9

Week 9 recap - this week we critiqued the color wheel project and started the Atmospheric Space project. Students will create a series of ink wash thumbnails, color light studies before creating a final deep space atmosphere piece

Meeting 4 Recap - This week students were assigned groups to research and post about neighborhoods in the three cities we will visit. Students should have one or two posts per city neighborhood for each group. This should be done on the blog not on facebook. FA 106 Color Theory Week 8

Week 8 recap- students submitted the pixel portrait project for grading and began to make designs for the color ribbon project.

GD 101 Foundation Drawing Week 8

Week 8 recap- this week students began work on the Value Stations Project. Dividing the paper into four quadrants student will draw a specific value key drawing in each.

FA 105 2D Design Week 8

Week 8 recap- Monday we critiqued and submitted the Noun Form project demonstrated an abstract approach to creating the color wheel project. Wednesday students received midterm grades and worked on designing their own color "wheel".

FA 218 Painting 2 week 7

Week 7 recap- this week students finished up the first two projects for critique next week. A quick canvas stretching demonstration was given with another to follow next week. Video and book project was shared through blog and handout.

FA 106 Color Theory Week 7

Week7 recap- this week students finished the pixel project with a demonstration for Faces of Mohawk Valley / Rainbow Young. The color ribbon project was introduced for next week.

GD 101 Foundation Draw Week 7

Week 7 recap- this week we finished the perspective projection boxes on Monday and focused on cross contour line drawings for Wednesday . Next week we will start a series of graphite tonal still lifes. Finally we introduced the 6 parts of light concept for a complete view of tonal shading. Homework had a. 3 objects fit into boxes b. fifteen circle/oval abstract compositions c. Draw "chaos"

FA 105 2D Design Week 7

Week 7 recap- this week we caught up with our second project and moved to finish our final designs for the noun form. The color "wheel" project was also introduced.
