FA 104 Figure Drawing 2 Week 14

Week 14 recap- Tuesday students began the final drawings part 1 with the theme of Albrecht Durer's Melancholia 1. Students are asked to use this theme inspired pose to create a finished picture. On the last day students will submit one of the two drawings for a final grade.

FA 209 Painting 1 Week 14

Week 14 recap- Tuesday students neared completion of the portrait/cast/drape project while planning to start the 18"x24" final painting. Demonstration for this project continued with a rough block-in of the value planes for the planear portrait.

FA 106 Color Theory Week 14

Week 14 recap- Tuesday students worked to complete the critter/robot project while planning for the final project.

Demonstration began combining the palette from part B with some subject elements of part A. 

FA 202 Intermediate Drawing Week 14

Week 14 recap- today students submitted sketchbooks for grading updates and continued work on the last 3 projects. 

FA 104 Figure Drawing Week 13

Week 13 recap- this week students made a second portrait drawing on Tuesday while working on gestures in the sketchbook on Thursday. Final drawings begin tues nov 26. 

FA 209 Painting 1 Week 13

Week 13 recap- this week students should have both been planning their final and started painting the Cast/Drape/Portrait. 16"-20" and the final should be 18"-24". All due for critique on Thursday December 12.

FA 106 Color Theory Week 13

Week 13 recap- this week students finished working on their critter/robot while the final project was introduced. Students should have a still life set up ready for next class. 

FA 202 Intermediate Drawing Week 13

Week 13 recap - this week students continued lab work on all ongoing projects. Sketchbooks will be reviewed on Monday November 25. Demonstrations concluded on the Baroque Hair #1 and the artist copy, while hair #2 began.

Week 12 recap- on Tuesday students visited the anatomy lab to draw. On Thursday students began the first of two portrait drawings.

FA 106 Color Theory Week 12

Week 12 Recap - On Tuesday students submitted their Faces of the Mohawk Valley pixel portraits for grading. Thursday students should be nearing completion of the Color Ribbon project. The tonal Robot/Critter project will be due for critique on Tues Nov 26. Demonstration for the Manticorpse part 3 (tonal environment) was brought to near completion.

Week 12 recap- this week students continued to work on the artist research, weakness to strength, final and sketchbook projects. Demonstrations on the Espinoza and Baroque Hair pieces continued.

FA 104 Figure Drawing 2 Week 11

Week 11- Tuesday students began their hand and feet graded drawing assignments, while on Thursday we held the Head and Features anatomy lecture. On Tuesday students will submit their final hand foot drawing before the anatomy lab visit. 

FA 209 Painting 1 Week 11

Week 11 recap- this week students should have completed their first palette project painting while starting the second. Demonstrations for Shellac - Mud Palette - Cloudscape, and Abstract - full palette - pomm-dodo.

FA 106 Color Theory Week 11

Week 11 recap- this week students finished work on both the FMV pixel portrait and the color ribbon project. Student were also introduced to the Robot/Critter project before critiquing the previous two.

FA 202 Intermediate Drawing Week 11

Week 11 recap - On Monday students submitted their plan for the weakness/strength project and then attended the Juergensen Gallery Naming ceremony/ Faculty opening. Wednesday students had lab time to work on the final three projects. Demonstration included the Andy Espinoza artist copy.

FA 104 Figure Drawing 2 Week 10

Week 10 recap- this week student drew from the Hand and Foot anatomy lecture. Learning out the stress on structure to the hands and feet students drew in their sketchbooks focusing on the form. Next week students will begin drawing the hands and feet on toned paper for a graded drawing. Head neck and the feature will be the next anatomy lecture. 

FA 209 Painting 1 Week 10

Week 10 recap - This week students were asked to finish the color box painting project and begin planing and painting the two pieces for the Palette Project. Demonstrations started with a Shellac style piece with a mud palette and a landscape/cloudscape theme(subject).
