FA 106 Color Theory PM Week 2

Tuesday student finished triad project designs and began painting the tones on their designs. Thursday students had a bit of work time before going to the movie Fury. Next week will have more lab time and an introduction to color field theory. 



FA 210 Digital Painting Week 2

On Tuesday students received the official project handouts for the grisaille, process notebook and keyboard shortcuts. Brush control exercise was also introduced and assigned for next Tuesday's class. Thursday students had a working lab to continue to complete the Grisaille painting. Next will hold an in progress critique.

FA 218 Painting 2 Week 2

Tuesday = no class. Thursday students had time to paint and near completion of painting 1/3 in the union separation project. Demonstrations included Grisaille and an intro to wipe out method.




FA 106 Color Theory AM Week 2

Tues - no class. Thursday students finished their design layout for the triad+ tone study and began executing their piece. We will have another work day on Tuesday. Color matching will be the next phase of our color space explorations.

FA 106 Color Theory PM Week 1

Same as the am class we discussed the syllabus on Tuesday and began painting the warm cool hue families on Thursday adding in the compliments harmonies tints and shades

On Tuesday students were introduced to the course syllabus, crtlpaint.com and a color scale exercise with shades, tints, compliments and harmonies. Thursday students had an introduction to the basics of Adobe Photoshop and both painted a geodesic solid and begun their first project Observational Grisaille Still Life.

FA 218 Painting 2 Week 1

This week students read through the course syllabus before beginning project 1 by selecting a still life object and pairing with a partner to create a set up for painting #1. Students will complete this piece and then decide whether to say with their partner or separate. Portraits were taken for the start of project 2 portrait exchange. Demonstrations will begin next week.

This week class began and students read through the course syllabus before collecting required materials on Tuesday.
